Congress Has Tentative Budget Deal

Conference committee expected Monday.

Congressional Quarterly reports that House and Senate negotiators have struck a tentative deal on major elements of the fiscal 2010 budget resolution that includes fast-track procedures for a health care overhaul. Negotiations were expected to continue through the weekend with a formal conference committee meeting Monday. Democratic leaders would like to have the final budget adopted this week as the president marks his first 100 days in office.
