The Farmers Cooperative Elevator Co., headquartered in Garden Plain, is inaugurating a fall Kick-Off Meeting and Expo Tuesday, Nov. 16 at the Cheney recreation center and Farm Bureau building in Cheney.
The day's events will include several booths for organizations involved in supporting agriculture and four informational sessions on crop production, fuel, feed and grain.
Among the organizations participating with booth space will be the South Central Kansas Residue Alliance, a group working to encourage no-till farming practices in the region.
The program is a "come and go" format to allow area farmers to attend the sessions of most interest to them. Educational sessions will begin at 8:30 a.m. and run until 4 p.m. with a break for lunch, which will be provided.
There will be an open session for sponsored booths from 4 to 6 p.m.
