Devgen and Monsanto to Exchange Technology

The two countries have agreed to a five-year technology exchange agreement.

Devgen N.V. and Monsanto Company have agreed to a five year technology exchange agreement and an R&D agreement. The agreements let both companies single out potential products from technologies being developed by both companies.

Devgen will leverage Monsanto's work in rice and small cereal grains, especially in Asia. Monsanto intends to initially leverage Devgen's technologies to its core crops of interest such as corn, cotton and soybeans.

The agreement allows Monsanto to use Devgen's gene regulation technology for its own crop products. Devgen's access to Monsanto rice technology will help Devgen build rise business in Asian markets, Devgen's CEO says.
