Farm groups in the Midwest are joining forces with a NASCAR driver to promote family farmers and the use of E-15 in NASCAR.
During a conference call the Illinois Corn Marketing Board, Illinois Soybean Association, the Missouri Corn Merchandising Council, and Marquis Energy announced the partnership with driver Kenny Wallace.
The 2011 racing season kicks off this weekend with the Daytona 500. E-15 will be used in all cars and trucks in the series.
Illinois Corn Marketing Board Chair Scott Sterling says working with Kenny Wallace and the NASCAR community is a great opportunity to spread the message of the family farmer.
"Kenny is the perfect spokesperson for family farmers," Sterling said. "His passion for racing mirrors exactly the passion family farmers for their work growing food, feed and fuel for America."
Wallace is already in Daytona gearing up for this weekend's race. He says his goal is to spread true knowledge about family farmers and ethanol. For more information on the partnership visit www.ilcorn.org or www.ilsoy.org.
