Kansas Agri-Women focuses on ag education and advocacy. Its motto: "From Producer to Consumer with Understanding." The group's main project for 2014 is to upgrade some of its older "One Kansas Farmer Feeds" highway signs on state and county highways. In the past 2 years, the group has updated the production numbers to read "One Kansas Farmer feeds 155 people + you!"
The group also has a smaller, metal yard-sign version of the signs available for $45 plus shipping as well as a poster version available for $5 plus shipping.
"We hope Kansas businesses and organizations will display the signs — and join us in showing off pride for Kansas agriculture," says Goslin.
Kansas Agri-Women's ongoing projects include sponsoring Agriland at the Kansas State Fair, the Women Managing the Farm conference and other educational and advocacy events. The group is also involved in legislative advocacy on the state and national level and offers leadership development for its members.
