Kansas Cattlemen Move to Junction City

Purpose of move is to improve visibility.

The Kansas Cattlemen's Association is now open in new headquarters at 606 N. Washington St. in Junction City.

The organization moved from Manhattan to Junction City to take advantage of an office space that provided more street-level visibility than its previous second-story office.

The organization was founded in Brewster in 1998 and moved to Manhattan in 2005 to be closer to the state capital in Topeka.

The organization was founded as a grassroots effort to represent producers and work for producer rights. It is affiliated with the national R-Calf organization and was an early proponent of the Mandatory Country of Origin Labeling legislation that will take effect the end of September.
