Krause Corp. Bought Out

Kuhn Group says deal to buy Kansas ag manufacturing will close within weeks.

Kuhn Group, headquartered in France, has bought Krause Corp., located in Hutchinson, Kan.

Kuhn manufactures and markets a wide range of agricultural equipment. Krause is a North American leader in the manufacture of tillage equipment and grain drills.

Krause ,with 230 employees one of the leading employers in Reno County, was founded in 1916. Its revenues in 2010 exceeded $61million. It specializes in the design and manufacture of primary and secondary tillage, strip till and vertical tillage equipment and grain drills for tractors of 100 to 550 horsepower.

Kuhn Group has North American headquarters in Brodhead, Wisc., and employs about 500 people. Worldwide headquarters is in Saverne, France and the company employs a total of 3,500 people with manufacturing plants in the U.S., France, Brazil and the Netherlands.

Kuhn expects the acquisition to close within weeks. Krause will then become Kuhn Krause and will operate independently to focus on the development, manufacturing anad marketing of large-width tillage tools for the North American and overseas markets.
