National Farmers Group Calls for Ag Stimulus Plan

The National Farmers organization is calling for a farm economy stimulus program that would divert funds originally intended for subsidies to the highest income farmers into a fund to buy grain, meat and dairy products to feed the hungry.

National Farmers President Paul Olson said the organization also advocates doubling the Farm Service Agency’s lending authority for direct and guaranteed farm operating loans and recommends raising commodity loan rates to more closely match each commodity’s production costs.

National Farmers is a group marketing and bargaining organization.
