Three Residual Herbicides Included In Incentive Program

Three Residual Herbicides Included In Incentive Program

MANA Crop Protection is offering $12 rebates on Cotoran, Cotton Pro, and Direx 4L for 2013.

MANA Crop Protection says three residual herbicides in its cotton portfolio -- Cotoran, Cotton Pro and Direx 4L -- will be included in the 2013 Roundup Ready Plus Weed Management Solutions program. The inclusion means when the products are used according to Roundup Ready Plus guidelines, growers can qualify for a $12 per gallon incentive payment.

All three preparatioins are recommended as controls for Palmer Amaranth and other weed species known for resistance to glyphosate.

Dave Downing, MANA Crop Protection manager, says, "Especially in locations where growers are on high alert for resistance, these experienced, go-to residual standards will prove to be highly valuable."

Palmer Amaranth and its resistance to glyphosate is the target of a new program by MANA that rebates $12 toward gallons of residual herbicides used in Roundup Ready fields.

Downing says the use of the residual herbicides helps in controlling Palmer amaranth as well as prevents early weed competition and delays resistance development in other weed species.
