Tuesday Is Day to See Herbicide Tolerant SorghumField day will showcase latest technology, treatments to combat weeds in grain sorghum at K-State research farm at Ashland Bottoms.

Kansas farmers will have their first chance this year to see the progress that is being made in herbicide treatments on sorghum on Tuesday when Kansas State University, the Kansas Grain Sorghum Commission, DuPont and the United Sorghum Checkoff Program join as hosts of a field day at the K-State research farm at Ashland Bottoms.

The day begins at 10 a.m. and a variety of plots will be toured, showing how different herbicide treatments work to control grass or broadleaf weed pressure.

For producers in far eastern Kansas, an alternate opportunity to view the technology comes on Wednesday with a field day at the Bradford Research and Extensio Center, 4968 Rangeline Road in Columbia, Mo. That event begins at 8:30 a.m.
