Twelve Kansans Attend Agri-Women Convention

American Agri-Women Convention was Nov. 5-9 in San Antonio.

Twelve Kansans were in San Antonio for the convention of the American Agri-Women Nov. 5-9.

Tim Findley, an investigative reporter in Nevada, was the featured speaker. Convention attendees also attended discussions on private property rights, fair tax legislation, climate research, the proposed trans-continental superhighway, and immigration Border Patrol operations. Tours to the San Antonio Central Market, Wholesale Foods, El Mercado Market, and Wildseed Farm showcased Texas agri-business.

During the business meeting, Kansas Agri-Women president, Abby Dechant of Alma, carried the state flag in the opening ceremony. National officers from Kansas were Chris Wilson of Manhattan, lst Vice President of Resolutions and Vital Issues, and Carolyn Kleiber of Hillsboro, treasurer. Lois Schlickau of Haven conducted the installation ceremony for the 2009 officers.

Other Kansans in attendance were Jean and Dick Pettibone, Kanarado; Amanda Mabold, Donita Whitney-Bamerlin, Lori Bamerlin, Joanna Wilson, Manhattan; and Darrell andn Wanda Kinney, Carbondale.
