Planning for the impact of climate change on water resources is the focus of the third annual Kansas Water Issues Forum, which is scheduled for Dec. 9 in Wichita and Dec. 10 in Hays.
The meetings are open to the first 150 people to pre-register at each location. Registration and payment of the $10 registration fee must be received by the water office by Nov. 25. The registration form is available on line at www.kwo.org.
Some speakers will address both sessions while others will be specific to location. A highlight of both sessions will be the long range climate outlook for Kansas and its implications for all aspects of water resources.
Topics specific to Hays will be "Bumper Crops or Busted Yields: and "Carbon Capture and Storage." Topics specific to Wichita will be "Municipalities, Planning for Change" and "Climate Change and Flooding."
