My Generation

Hunger Amidst Bounty

Canadians organize a Harvest for Hunger: 120 combines, 160 acres, 12 minutes.

I don't often write a blog that's merely a link to another blog, but I thought this bore special recognition. When you get a moment, click here and read it through.

Do you know Ann Voskamp? A friend handed me her book, One Thousand Gifts, and I'm making my way through it, soaking up prose which can only be described as poetic. Read the post above and you'll see what I mean.

But beyond being an author, blogger and profound Christian thinker, Ann Voskamp is a farmer's wife. She's mother to six and they farm the wind-swept prairies of Canada. Sounds familiar, no?

Please, if you can spare a few minutes, read the link above. Soak in the photos and the story and think about hunger in America. And let me know: what can we do here? Can we do more?
