It Has Stopped Snowing; Tornadoes Up Next

If you haven't bought your hail insurance yet, today might be a good day to do it

Just when the air has finally warmed enough to get the wheat green and growing, the next threat emerges.

Turbulent weather is in store for much of Kansas today, tonight and tomorrow.

The National Weather Service has notified storm spotters they will probably be needed after 3 p.m. and the storms are likely to produce high winds, large hail and possibly tornadoes.

Winds have been strong already for two days, with gusts hitting 40 mph off and on. The pitiful little tomato plants I put out already look like they are bowing to the North Star. Fortunately, if hail pounds them, I can replant easily. That's not the case if you have hundreds of acres of wheat at risk.

So, this is a timely reminder. If you haven't talked to your agent about hail insurance, it's time to do it.
