Machinery Launches Offer Fun, Information

Big equipment rollouts provide plenty of conversation starters as show season nears.

Big equipment rollouts are one of the fun things a gearhead editor gets to attend, and while I have other duties here at Farm Progress, I do what I can to get my fair share of time at product events and farm shows. I got the chance to get a look at the new Deere equipment that's appearing today and thought you'd like a look at the new tools too. Here's a roundup of the products the company is unveiling this fall - I've added links to more in-depth information for each product that's hosted here on our site.

You can get a look at the equipment at our shows - Farm Progress Show in Decatur, Ill., Sept. 1, 2 and 3; and Husker Harvest Days near Grand Island, Neb., Sept. 15, 16, and 17. Here's a roundup of what you'll get to see:

New 8R Series Tractors Roll Out
Based on the 8000 Series, these new machines offer more power and a totally redesigned cab aimed at boosting productivity and enhancing the "rolling office" feel of the machine. And there's a new track line - the 8RT - featuring air suspension. Check out the new 8R series

7030 Premium Series Gets Added Model
The new 7530 is the newest member of the 7000 Series tractor family, with 180 engine horsepower. This latest addition to the line features the higher-horsepower of a bigger machine in a more compact package. Learn more about the 7530

Ramping Up The Forage Harvester Power
John Deere is pulling off the gloves in the "forage harvester horsepower arms race" with the new 7950 Self-Propelled Forage Harvester featuring 800 horsepower. The more productive machine is designed to replace two smaller forage harvesters in an operation. Update yourself on the new 7950

Sprayer for the Rest of Us
New economy sized model gets added to the John Deere self-propelled sprayer lineup. The new 4630 Sprayer works for cotton farmers who want an economical spraying solution, and is a versatile machine for corn, soybean and small grain producers that need a machine with advanced options. Retooling the Windrower Line
The new John Deere 400 Series Self-Propelled Windrowers offer three new models, including a model designed strictly for use in draper header applications. As operations get larger, faster forage-making becomes important. These machines help get the crop cut faster. Learn more about the 400 Series

Fire Up Sprayer Productivity
John Deere is turning up the heat on the application business with a system that allows a very quick turnaround when tending a sprayer in the field. The Load Command system that can refill a 1,200-gallon tank sprayer in three minutes, but the system is more than a fast-loading pump. The unit is designed to make hose handling easier too. Take Control of Anhydrous - Remotely
Farmers aren't big fans of messing around with anhydrous ammonia, but for top producing corn, this nitrogen source is still preferred by many.
