Self-propelled sprayers are growing in importance for a wider range of farms. They offer you total control of your weed control and even post-plant fertility program, but what sprayer is the right size? Agco Application Equipment is answering the question with the new RG700 - a 700-gallon sprayer built with what the company says is the "same attention to detail and durability as its bigger RoGator brothers."
The new machine will be available fall of 2013. It will feature a Tier 4i engine and an application-specific cab design for top operator comfort and safety. The drive train for the machine features the AWD Smart Drive System providing even weight distribution. It also features a Parallel C-channel flex frame. Those combine to allow for consistent field speed without shifting. And you'll get that four-wheel traction that's critical in a range of spraying situations.
Power comes from a 165-hp engine that produces more torque to provide consistent power to pull the machine through a range of conditions from rough terrain to soft, wet ground. And the engine uses Agco's selective catalytic reduction tech to meet Tier 4i requirements set by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency.
The machine features adjustable track widths with two axle configurations - narrow and standard - to allow the user to change the machine as needed for greater versatility.
Agco reports that the RG700 - like its bigger siblings - features that cab designed specifically for application, which is an industry exclusive. There's a six-post cab design for a wide, panoramic front windshield. Folded booms rest below sight lines for enhanced road visibility. There's a wider platform and a lower first step for easier access. Sound-dampening materials offer a quieter ride. And there's an ergonomic joystick that minimized reaching to run.
The sprayer also has a more efficient reload station design to make tending the machine simpler.
And owners can access a range of technology from sprayer and boom height controllers to assisted steering systems. There's also the AgCommand telemetry system for monitoring machine performance data.
