Agco, USC announce industry collaboration

Seed treatment technology to be available through GSI network globally

USC LLC and Agco have announced a joint venture that will offer seed treatment technology through the Agco GSI brand on a global basis. In a press statement, USC notes that the collaboration will focus on the need for turn-key seed treatment solutions, centered on providing consistency and reliability for customers during the busy planting season. The proposed joint venture will build on Agco’s goal to provide end-to-end solutions for professional farmers around the world.

The joint venture will leverage Agco’s marketing footprint to provide infrastructure to serve and manage the growing seed treatment industry, and allow USC to extend the reach of the technology offered to the market.

The seed treatment market is heating up and through a new joint venture, Agco's GSI unit will market USC LLC technology.

Tom Welke, Agco senior vice president, commented in a press statement: “As we continue to build on AGCO’s goal to provide high-tech solutions for professional farmers, we are committed to expanding our reach to provide solutions from seed, all the way to storage. We intend to leverage this new partnership with USC as a key driver in providing the most reliable equipment and service network in the seed treatment industry.”

Jim Renyer, president, USC LLC, adds: “Partnering with AGCO will give us the additional support needed to realize our growth potential and continue to provide solutions for our valued customers.”
