Carbon Economy Is Topic of Workshop

Between 200 and 250 Midwest ag leaders expected at Dec. 15 event.

Midwestern agriculture leaders have a chance to learn about programs, technologies and policies to help them flourish in the new carbon restrained economy expected to emerge in the coming months.

Policies to Prosper in the New Carbon Economy will sponsor a workshop on Dec. 15 and 16 that offer information and insight on the energy title of the 2008 Farm Bill, recommendations from the Midwest Governor’s Association Green House Gas advisory group, and proposals for a low carbon fuel standard.

Between 200 and 250 Midwest ag leaders are expected for the conference, which will be held at the Crowne Plaze O’Hare in Rosemont, Ill.

The implications for agriculture in legislation likely to be passed in the coming months are extensive.
