Don Coffey, executive vice president of MGPI's ingredient solutions business segment has been appointed an officer of the Atchison company.
The board of directors approved the appointment last week.
Coffey has been with MGPI for about 18 months.
Coffey received his bachelor of science degree in food science from the University of Massachusetts in 1976 and his master's degree in food science from that same university in 1979. He was awarded his Ph.D. degree in food science from Michigan State University in 1985.
