Kansas Cowboy Music Is Headed to Germany

Diamond W Wranglers will perform during Americana World Western Riding and Reining Championships; promote Kansas and Oklahoma tourism.

Kansas cowboy music is headed to Germany in September as Wichita's famous Diamond W Wranglers start a promotional tour by the Kansas Department of Commerce Travel and Tourism Division in partnership with the State of Oklahoma.

The focus of the trip is the 2010 AMERICANA World Western Riding & Reining Championships.  This 5-day event in September is the largest of its kind in Europe, attracting more than 40,000 Western riding enthusiasts.  The Diamond W Wranglers will be performing several times a day, encouraging people to visit the Kansas /Oklahoma booth.
In Kansas, the Diamond W Wranglers make their home at the Diamond W Chuckwagon at the Old Cowtown Museum in Wichita.  They also tour their unique brand of Western Music around the country.  In 2008, the Academy of Western Artists named their "Deep in the Saddle" CD "Western Music Album of the Year."

In honor of the trip, Diamond W is learning to sing one of the most commercially famous Western ballads, "Ghost Riders in the Sky", in German.
The Diamond W Wranglers are veteran international performers. In 2006, they were the first Americans to bring Western Music to China, at the invitation of the Peoples Republic of China.
The Diamond W's journey is being partially sponsored by Go Wichita Convention and Visitors Bureau, Village Tours and Travel, and Senseney Music.

For more information about the group and its members, go to www.diamondWwranglers.com, which also features their music.
