Kioti Tractor Division cut the ribbon on its new DK45SE compact tractor Tuesday, noting it’s the first of eight new models slated to join the company’s existing 14-model lineup by the end of 2007.
The 45SE is built on a DK40 frame, but features a 134-cubic inch 45 horsepower 4-cylinder diesel engine producing 36 hp at the PTO.
Playing to the increasingly suburban market, where couples share acreage duties in landscape maintenance and/or livestock management, the new 4WD Kioti shifts through a three-range hydrostatic transmission – much like an automobile, says Dick Hansson, Kioti’s national sales manager.
Hansson says the DK45SE will be followed shortly by 35 and 40 hp. models equipped with the same hydrostat transmission. Other models in the pipeline will be announced in 2007, including a DK90 with 90 hp.
The new hydro-equipped models sport a synchro-shuttle, a standard 540 rpm rear PTO, foldable roll over protection system and seatbelt, a foot throttle, a rear differential lock, an 11.9 gallon fuel tank and a one-lever joystick control for a loader.
Optional equipment includes a mid PTO, ballast weights, a sunshade, trailer electronic outlet and a second remote hydraulic valve.
Hydraulics include a 16.8 gallon per minute pump, a three-point hitch with a 2,940 lb. lifting capacity and power steering.
Kioti lists the suggested retail priceat $22,606 with industrial tires.
