The Kansas Workforce Summit Jan. 21 and 22 will end with a motivational, inspirational presentation from Jared Estes, the survivor of a fiery car crash that cost him his wife and almost his life in March of 2005.
His presentation covers perseverance, attitude, teamwork, networking and refusing to take "no" for an answer.
Estes and his wife of only six months, Paige, were returning home from an event when they were struck from behind by a three-time DUI offender that police estimated was traveling at more than 120 mph. Paige was killed in the accident.
It took more than 50 surgeries to bring Jared through the life-threatening burns that covered more than half of his body. During the long, grueling recovery, he says he made the decision not to just get back up but to "Fire Back," the title he gave his motivational presentation.
Jared's message is primarily one of perseverance and the importance of keeping a positive attitude. A sincere, unfiltered re-telling of his experience and the relatable lessons he learned along the way is intended to help bring the fight in everyone who has experienced one of life's knock-downs.
