National Dairy Leaders Conference Set for April 15-17

The annual event will meet in Stevenson, Washington.

The 2007 National Dairy Leaders Conference, which brings together dairy industry professionals from across the country, will convene Sunday, April 15, through Tuesday, April 17, at the Skamania Lodge in Stevenson, Wash., located in the Columbia River Gorge National Scenic Area east of Portland, Ore.

The conference brings together dairy producers, cooperative executives, processors, state and federal government officials, university economists, and other industry leaders to facilitate the exchange of knowledge and perspectives on a range of dairy industry issues to benefit the entire dairy industry.

Program highlights include: dairy promotion, dairy policy and the 2007 Farm Bill, dairy export growth, the impact of organic growth in dairy marketing, and animal identification efforts in North America.

Other program topics will include panel discussions about the implications of renewable energy, cheese plant economics, and animal biotechnology to the dairy industry.
