Renewable Energy Workshop to Be March 24 Near Salina

Wind, biomass and renewable fuels are on the agenda.

The Kansas Farmers Union, American Corn Growers Association and Farm Aid are combining to host a Renewable Energy Forum, March 24 at Rolling Hills Conference Center west of Salina.

The session starts at 9:00 AM and will wrap up by 4:00 and is open to farmers, rural businesses and residents and anyone else interested in energy and agriculture policy.

The workshop is intended to educate folks on new opportunities for renewable energy, including bio-diesel production and use, ethanol "from fields to fuel," wind energy potential for rural communities, biomass production and utilization and the link between renewable energy production and U.S. farm policy.

Lunch will be served and door prizes will be provided.
