House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer, D-Md., says the Senate health care reform bill is clearly better than nothing, but says that House and Senate negotiators continue to work to blend their competing versions of the legislation. He expects Congress could send a bill to President Obama within 15 days.
There has been speculation that the House would try to send the Senate-passed version straight to President Obama, even though many House Democrats dislike some of its core provisions.
Meanwhile, there seems to be no question as to where public interest is focused. According to Hoyer people are angry, fearful and very concerned about the economy.
