There's no time like fair time for hundreds of 4-H and FFA members across Kansas. In years when the weather cooperates, which tend to be few and far between, the experience is especially sweet. This year, after a long, hot summer, a cool-down came just in time for the fair.
Even though rain threatened on several mornings of the fair and a couple of overnight downpours left parking lots a bit soft, the weather was mostly absolutely beautiful – highs in the upper 70s and low 80s under clear skies with soft breezes.
Even with the economy in tough shape, that meant a lot of people made the trip to Hutchinson to enjoy at least one day of animals, exhibits, food and of course, Midway rides. The slideshow below offers a glimpse of some of what the fair this year had to offer.
