Five varieties of wheat are being grown on each plot; discussion will include update on disease.

If you missed the big Barton County wheat plot tour a week ago, County Agent Rick Snell is offering you a make-up date with a tour of two 4-H plots on Wednesday evening. (May 26)

Tours will begin at 6 p.m. at the Kyle Blakeslee plot a mile south and one mile west of Highway 281 nd the Barton-Stafford County line. The tour then moves to Danette Unruh's plot a quarter-mile southwest of Dundee on Highway 56 at 7 p.m.

Each of the plots has five varieties that will be discussed.

There will also be a short discussion on wheat diseases and how to use your combine more efficiently and safely.

Following the tour, the Great Bend co-op will be cooking hamburgers on the Wyona Unruh farm, just across the road and slightly west of the plot.

Snell says there is no charge for the hamburger fry, but give him a call at 620-793-1910 if you plan to be there so he can let them know a head count.
