Reliable mowers are valuable tools. Kuhn offers two different series for its GMD offering, the GMD Select and the GMD Premium. Here's a look at the latest models in the two lines.
Available in working widths from 5-ft., 3-in. to 9-ft., 2-in., the new mowers offer fast, clean mowing of heavy grasses and delicate forage crops. The GMD Select mowers use the 100 Series cutter bar with features Protectadrive safety to help protect the cutterbar from damage if it encounters an obstacle. All adjustments are simple and easy to perform with few greasing points and limited need for regular maintenance.
The redesigned headstock keeps the mower close to the tractor, reducing overhang and boosting safety when mowing in rough fields. An outer swath wheel provides clear separation of cut and uncut crop.
As successors to the Kuhn GMD 600, 700 and 800 mowers, the new GMD 24, 280 and 310 machines offer increased durability, more features and simpler operation. The GMD Premium Series is available in working widths of 7-ft., 10-in to 10-ft., 2-in. And special attention has been made to optimize structural strength for years of low maintenance hay production.
The machines feature the 100 series cutterbar with heavy-duty disks and these machines cut hay at a flat cutting angle, reducing dirt incorporation and increasing knife life. The cutterbar is equipped with Protectadrive safety, to prevent damage. Transitioning from headland and mowing positions is done by a single-lever control. Hookup to the mower is fast, and easy, with a Cat. 2 hitch with quick-hitch compatibility. An outer swath wheel provides clear separation from the cut and uncut crop.
